Hike the hill
Stand on the Summit
A hike to the top of the hill can be as challenging as you want it to be. You could stroll along the pathways and boardwalks from the provincial park to the summit. Or a more challenging hike from Butterpot Pond on the Holyrood side of the park awaits the more adventurous.
You may see rabbits, squirrels, many kinds of birds, and other animals and plants along the way.
If you are lucky you might get to see the elusive Beaver.
There are other trails in the park as well, to fishing and swimming spots. You can rent a boat or canoe from the park too.
Whether it be a few hours or days Butterpot has lots to offer visitors to the Avalon and residents too.
It's all down hill from here, stand on the rock mound at the summit of Butterpot and be the highest person on the Avalon at 1009 feet.
