Conception Harbour, with a population of around 900,  is approximately 15 kilometres from Holyrood. It is an attractive community which is typical of the area's beautiful coastal scenery.

It is believed that the earliest settlers in this area were in Bacon Cove and then in Kitchuses. These are two small areas located within the community. The community of Conception Harbour is located along the Admirals Coast touring route.
